The reservation rule
The park page and the detailed reservation FAQ publish a May 15 through September 30 morning reservation season. A separate short FAQ answer has displayed May 1, so this guide uses the date supported by the park page and detailed instructions. Recheck it each season.
What Beach Patrol means
Nevada State Parks says Beach Patrol is on duty from Memorial Day through Labor Day. It does not call that service lifeguarding, so this guide does not promise supervised swimming.

Can I walk in from Highway 28?
No. Nevada State Parks prohibits Highway 28 walk-ins and drop-offs. Pedestrians and cyclists using the East Shore Trail are treated separately.
