About Lake Access Guide
Lake Access Guide exists because “Can I swim there?” hides several different questions. This site handles the permission and access part, cites the entity that controls the shore, and leaves current conditions to the agencies and signs that can observe them.
What belongs here
Named access points with an official manager, a direct source, a clear public/private distinction, and enough practical detail to avoid driving to the wrong gate. Unknown facts stay unknown.
What does not belong here
Crowdsourced certainty about rules, evergreen live-status language, implied lifeguard coverage, or a condition claim inferred from the lack of an advisory. Those shortcuts make a guide easier to publish and harder to trust.
Current coverage
The guide covers 14 lakes, including an August 2026 matched release of better-known and discovery-oriented destinations. Each access page carries its own source-check date. Cohort definitions and measurement rules were recorded before Search Console results were read.
